The Undertaker. by MBV-Arkestra The Undertaker. by MBV-Arkestra
Professional wrestling's Dead Man Walking. For over 15 years, the Undertaker has wreaked his own gothic-tinged brand of havoc throughout the World Wrestling Federation (not Entertainment; fuck the World Wildlife Fund), becoming a sports-entertainment icon in the process. I may not watch modern wrestling any more, but the memories of my childhood and teenage years are still with me, and I was a die-hard WWF fan throughout those times. The Undertaker always loomed large over my enjoyment of the mat action. Whether it was sealing the Ugandan Giant Kamala in a coffin at Survivor Series '92 or hurling Mankind from the top of a 17-foot-high Cell to the announce table and concrete below, the Undertaker represented an extreme of pro wrestling: that of the Superstar appearing to actually try and kill his adversary. From his chilling entrance (aided by dimmed lights, torch-bearing druids and pyrotechnics throughout his career) to his legitimately dangerous Tombstone piledriver finishing maneouvre, through his epic battles with the aforementioned Mankind and his twisted, monster-like brother Kane, everything the Undertaker does is iconic and impacts on the wrestling business.

So I did this. The subject image was from around 1995, after the Undertaker returned from a lengthy sabbatical that started after the Royal Rumble in 1994 (when he was sealed in a casket by Japanese sumo giant Yokozuna then prophesied that he would return and a new age of the Undertaker would begin), and not included in the piece is the Undertaker's then-manager Paul Bearer holding the mysterious urn (from which it was theorised the Undertaker drew his power and inhuman endurance). I may add Bearer at a later date.

Enjoy my tribute to one of the most iconic sports-entertainers in history.

Hail to the Dead Man, for you cannot kill what does not live.

That's an excellent piece of art. When i was younger, the Undertaker was my idol, along with Bret Hart and Yokozuna.
